Since its inception in 1979, the Company has always been a frontrunner in exploring and adopting sustainable practices in its operations.
The mill was set up in an economically backward village – Saila Khurd, in District Hoshiarpur, in the state of Punjab, India, with an aim to utilize Agro-residues such as Wheat straw and wild Agro vegetations like Sarkanda Grass and to make high quality writing & printing, copier and specialty paper. By creating a viable application for them in producing agro pulp, we have helped in reducing the rampant practice of stubble burning which generates greenhouse gases (GHGs) and leads to acute air pollution in the region. The company uses rice husk as a fuel in its Co-Gen Power plant which helps reduce its dependence on coal.
